Gal Gadot Gets Henry Cavill's Thumbs Up For Wonder Woman Portrayal; Actress Recalls Army Days

Despite the criticisms Gal Gadot has been receiving after it was announced that she's playing Wonder Woman in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," the Israeli beauty got the biggest endorsement of all--from the Man of Steel himself, Henry Cavill.

Henry Cavill is still on the road promoting "The Man from U.N.C.L.E" and the actor and co-star Armie Hammer were talking to the Israeli news site, YNET when the following conversations came up, as shared by Comic Book Movie.

Interviewer: Henry, I know you don't want to talk about Superman, so I'm not going to talk about that. Wonder Woman.

Henry Cavill: Wonder Woman?

Interviewer: Gal Gadot.

Armie Hammer: Are you going to play Wonder Woman?

Cavill: Well you see they offered me the role and I was like- 'Hmm, you know what, I think Gal did a great job so...'

Armie: You would had filled out that skirt well.

Cavill: It's a dream of mine.

Interviewer: She's Israeli, we are rooting for her. How was it, how was she?

Cavill: Absolutely fantastic, yeah she's really cool, she makes a really cool Wonder Woman.

The Internet has been buzzing since it was announced that Gal Gadot is playing Wonder Woman in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" and not in a good way, either. Fans pointed out that she lacked the body type to creditably play the Amazonian princess.

But even if she won the Miss Israel crown, Gal Gadot is no patsy as she served in the Israeli army for two years.

"To become a fight-training instructor in the Israeli Defense Forces, I did a four-month boot camp where I had to go for seven-mile runs every morning at 6:30AM," she told Marie Claire. "It was a good prep for acting because movies require a lot of discipline and responsibility."

Not many actresses linked to Wonder Woman, including Gemma Atterton and Jaime Alexander, could claim to have served in the army like Gal Gadot can despite her svelte frame.
