Disney 'Star Wars' Toys Flood The Toy Market, The Demand Of Merchandise Increases With The Upcoming Film Release

Disney “Star Wars” toys are going to flood the market.

No one predicted the merger between Disney and Lucasfilm, and when it actually happened, hardcore fans around the world had mixed feelings on how to receive the news.

The epic space opera is a successful film and commercial franchise on its own, the addition of “Star Wars” into the roster of Disney companies would boost up the opportunities for the franchise.

In fact, apart from the animated series that was shown on to Disney audiences, there are plans of adding a “Star Wars” Land Park to the Disney Parks. Here fans will be able to live out their fantasies and fully immerse themselves in a world that was only limited to films and conventions.

According to Bloomberg, Disney “Star Wars” toys are reported to flood the market as there are three months left before the release of the newest addition to the film franchise.

The article reported “If all goes according to plan, fans, many in costumes, will be lining up well before any new Chewbacca masks, lightsabers or red-armed C-3PO action figures go on sale. The products, built around one of the highest-grossing film franchises in history, could help the toy industry score its best growth in more than a decade, according to NPD Group Inc. The researcher predicts the industry’s U.S. retail sales will increase 6.2 percent to $19.9 billion this year.”

This sudden surge of Disney “Star Wars” toys will happen in an event called “the world’s first ever global live toy unboxing event” on Sept.4.

Everything that will happen during the event will be livestreamed and will last for over 18 hours. Disney’s “Force Friday” is the slot where a new line of “Star Wars” toys will be revealed to the public, as reported by Fortune.
