WINNER Member Song Mino's Failed Idol Past Is Revealed

WINNER rapper Mino (Song Min Ho) was revealed to have joined a K-Pop boy group that ultimately disbanded before becoming part of YG Entertainment.

On August 26, commenters on the Korean online forum Pann began piecing together details of Mino's past attempts to make it as an idol, reports Koreaboo.

"Man I'm really in shock right now. I found this surfing through the internet and apparently these pictures are of Song Mino and they're from 2011," said one online commenter who stumbled into photos of Mino offering free hugs and promoting on shows as part of the now disbanded group BoM.

"It looks like Mino but there's no way. From these pictures it looks like he was in a group. I knew he was the final member of Block B and left but he debuted in a different group?"

"Song Mino used to be active under the name Tagoon. It was a four member group but two left and only the leader and Mino were left," shared another online commenter on Mino's experience as part of BoM.

"He kept his loyalty but they finally disbanded and he went to YG auditions thinking that it was his last chance and got accepted. He went through so much that it hurts me when people say that he has it easy because of his company."

Fans also noted that prior to his debut as a WINNER rapper, Mino was also part of Block B but was removed before debut.

Determined to still make it as an idol, Mino joined YG Entertainment and participated in the WIN survival program where he was chosen to become part of the WINNER boy group that launched last year.

Recently, Mino has been making waves as a solo rapper. He reached the finals of rap competition show Show Me The Money where he faced off and lost against Basick.

As for his group activities, Mino has said in an interview last week that WINNER is "working really hard on our new songs" and encouraged fans to look out for their comeback album although no release date has been revealed.
