Alexa and Carlos Vega Join ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 21 Cast; Chaka Khan Also Signs Up

Couple Alexa and Carlos PenaVega will be joining the cast of "Dancing With The Stars" season 21.

This was exclusively revealed by no less than the married couple to Entertainment Tonight.

Alexa, who is popularly known for her "Spy Kids" role, and husband Carlos, an actor and singer, will be the first married couple to go head-to-head against each other on the dancing reality show.

"It's so exciting. It's beautiful, it's overwhelming, it's an incredible blessing," the 26-year-old actress told ET's Cameron Matheson.

The two, who will both be paired with separate professional partners, will be competing for the mirror-ball trophy.

The couple, however, promised to support each throughout the competition.

"It's so good, though, because he literally rehearses right next door," Alexa said.

"So he'll walk over to me and he'll just give me a kiss. It's just so encouraging. He is my teammate and my life partner, so I like that encouragement. I need it," she added.

For his part, Carlos revealed the main reason he accepted ABC's invitation to join the cast of "Dancing With The Stars" season 21.

"The opportunity to work with my wife was like kind of almost a number one because we love spending time together," he explained.

"We're almost two years married. It's still fresh. I was like, 'Babe, we got to do this' and here we are," he added.

Jewel and her ex-husband Ty Murray were supposed to be the first married couple to face each other on the series.

But due to the injuries sustained by country singer's during the first week of rehearsals for season 8, she had no choice but to drop out of the series.

She was then replaced by Holly Madison, a former Playboy model.

Other celebrities who will also be joining the "Dancing With the Stars" season 21 cast include Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter, Bindi Irwin (daughter of late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin), and Triple Crown jockey Victor Espinoza.

Meanwhile, Chaka Khan will also be joining the "Dancing With The Stars" season 21 cast, ABC reported.

This was confirmed by the singer on Twitter.

"It's official, y'all!! Need you to root for me on #DWTS!!" the 62-year-old crooner tweeted.

The "Through the Fire" singer is the seventh person to be officially announced as a cast member of "Dancing With The Stars" season 21 which airs on Sept. 14.
