‘Gangnam Style’ Continues Viral Fervor Hitting New YouTube Milestone With 2.4 Billion Views

More than three years since its release, the music video for Psy's world-famous song "Gangnam Style" continues to rake in the online eyeballs as it reached a new milestone of 2.4 billon views on YouTube.

In April, the "Gangnam Style" music video was honored by YouTube to be the most watched clip in the site's history with more than 2.3 billion views.

This means that Psy's (Jae Sang Park) wildly popular music video has managed to accumulate another 100 million more views in the span of four months, proof of the its enduring quality.

In celebration of the milestone, Psy's record label, YG Entertainment, posted an image that shows the 2.4 billion milestone number as well as a cartoon image of PSY doing the iconic horse dance.

The official music video continues to attract a lot of fan engagement due to its amusing horse dance, hilarious scenes and catchy dance tune. As of August 30, the music video has gotten 4.9 million comments and 9.7 million likes.

The "Gangnam Style" music video was uploaded on YouTube on July 15, 2012 and fast became a global phenomenon, leading Psy to start promoting the song stateside.

Since then, Psy has released two other music videos in a similar style, "Gentleman" and "Hangover," which have also racked up hundreds of millions of views but not nearly attaining the international popularity as "Gangnam Style."
