Hyukoh Prepare For 1st Large-Scale Concert In Seoul September 18

Indie band Hyukoh will be mounting their first-ever solo concert in Seoul on September 18, reports The Korea Herald.

To be held at the Hyundai Underground, the first solo concert will be held in celebration of the band's first anniversary and will be titled 20. Tickets are currently on sale.

Hyukoh's concert will capitalize on the wave of popularity - a couple of their tracks have recently rocked the charts - that has swept the band since participating in the 2015 Infinite Challenge Summer Music Festival.

The maiden concert announcement can be considered another high moment for the indie band in what has been an erratic past couple of months, including a high-profile label signing and plagiarism allegations.

In July, Hyukoh made headlines after they signed with HIGHGRND, the independent hip-hop label that is backed by powerhouse agency YG Entertainment and led by Epik High's Tablo. This signaled that the indie band will be receiving support from some of the K-Pop industry's most influential and experienced music producers.

But in the same week, Hyukoh found themselves at the center of a plagiarism controversy after a video comparing the group's "Panda Bear" with the Beach Fossils song "Golden Age" went viral due to their apparent similarities. The criticism became so heated that the group's leader addressed the plagiarism allegations.
