Speculations are flying that Ian Somerhalder is leaving "The Vampire Diaries" over pressure from wife Nikki Reed just to end his association with ex, Nina Dobrev.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, the latest Instagram posts by Ian Somerhalder are very intriguing.

"It's doubtful any move Ian makes will forever end the Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Nikki Reed love triangle. But, Somerhalder's Instagram has been full of cryptic messages and hints that he is considering quitting his role as Damon Salvatore on TVD," it said.

One of the Instagram posts showed a photo of Ian Somerhalder looking into a peephole which he captioned, "Looking into the future... Love, Ian."

A fan noted, "I hope you don't leave (V)ampire (D)iaries(.) (I)t won't be the same without you if you leave and I hope your character does not die in the season 7(.) (P)lease stay(.) (V)ampire (D)iaries won't be the same with out (sic) you."

Another wrote a long rant, a portion of which read, "Please don't let Damon be killed off in season 7! I've heard so many rumors and of course I've read every single article and they are all saying that all this posting you've been doing on social media is just the beginning of your farewell to TVD!!!! I honestly don't know what I would do with myself if you were no longer on TVD - it would legitimately kill me if you didn't come back."

Nikki Reed's husband also posted another photo where Ian Somerhader screenshot the time when "The Vampire Diaries" ruled the airwaves in terms of ratings. Nina Dobrev's ex wrote, "The good old days... Look what was #1!!!!! Thank you for 6 years on the air!!!!"

One fan commented, "If you leave you will break billions of people's hearts we are already sad enough because of @ninadobrev leave so please don't make us feel worse."

Even if she quit, Nina Dobrev is forever going to be linked with "The Vampire Diaries" as well as her ex, Ian Somerhalder and his wife, Nikki Reed.

Dobrev and Reed were reportedly friends before the latter snatched her boyfriend while they were on a break, according to multiple rumors.
