K-pop girl group 4Minute will be drumming up excitement for Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, the sequel to the Hollywood family action-drama released last year.

The quintet have been chosen as the official promoters of The Scorch Trials in South Korea, reports The Korea Herald, which is scheduled to release in the country on September 17.

In the next two weeks leading up to the movie launch, 4Minute will be appearing in various promotional capacities for the film, including a September 3 red carpet event at COEX Megabox in the capital of Seoul. The girls will appear alongside the movie's lead actors including Thomas Brodie-Sangster and their fellow South Korean Lee Ki Hong.

The Maze Runner movies are based on the fantasy book trilogy of the same name which narrates the adventures of a group of teenagers in a sci-fi dystopian world.

In the Scorch Trials sequel, which 4Minute will be promoting, the teenagers have escaped the dangerous labyrinth in which they had been held and begin to explore an open world brought to near-annihilation by solar flares and lethal disease. The third and final movie Maze Runner: The Death Cure is slated for release in February 2017.

On top of their movie promotion duties, 4Minute are reportedly preparing to release a new comeback album. This will follow the release of 4Minute rapper HyunA's new solo album that dropped late last month.
