LA Lakers News: Can Kobe Bryant Co-Exist With The Young Bloods? Jim Buss Weighs In

The Los Angeles Lakers will be one of the teams to watch when the 2015-2016 season begins. Not only is Kobe Bryant returning to the roster, but he will be joined by some of the young talents with huge potential Julius Randle, D'Angelo Russell, and Jordan Clarkson.

In an article by Bleacher Report, the biggest concern heading into this season for the LA Lakers is if the two generations of players could co-exist. The article further stated that the Lakers franchise can never begin a clean slate as long as Kobe Bryant, other veterans, and coach Byron Scott is in the line-up.

Here's how VP of basketball operations Jim Buss sees the Lakers next season.

"To me, the barometer of success at the end of next year...is if we have eight core players that are going to be Lakers for the next five years," Buss told Eric Pincus of the Los Angeles Times. "It's not a number of wins. It's not if we make the playoffs. ... It matters that we have core players, and that these guys are our future."

But, it looks like it won't be long before the Lakers can move on to the next chapter. They are also anticipating that next season will be Kobe's last via Bleacher Report.

"We're going to approach it like it is, but that doesn't mean it is. I'm not going to sit there and say, 'This is it, Kobe, you're done,' because it's not my decision, it's his decision," Buss said.

"The man has done so much for the Lakers and the fans of the Laker nation, he deserves the money. I don't understand anybody trying to break down what I did for him. Let's break down what he did for us, then say, what is he worth? To me, he's worth that."
