JYP Entertainment's newest rookie band, DAY6, has made their debut with the release of their first EP, "The Day" and a music video for the album's title track, "Congratulations."

As the newest band to debut under JYP, DAY6 was originally announced as the five-member band, 5LIVE.

Comprised of Sungjin (guitar, vocals), Jae (guitar, vocal, rap), Wonpil (synthesizer, vocal), Junhyeok (keyboard, vocal) and Young K (bass, vocal, rap), the group began promotions in 2014, appearing on an episode of YG Entertainment's reality-elimination program, WIN: Who is Next and releasing the song, "Lovely Girl," for KBS2's drama, Pretty Man soundtrack.

In mid-2015, Dowoon (drums) was added to the band and DAY6 was formed.

As impressive as the group's musical talent is, one can't help but be even more impressed by the fact that members of the group participated in writing music and lyrics for all six tracks on their debut album. The album's title track, "Congratulations," is the work of DAY6, Lee Yoo Min, collapsedone and JYP Entertainment producer Hong Ji Sang.

In preparation for their debut, DAY6 has been busy, holding a series of promotional concerts at clubs around Seoul as well as a pre-debut showcase. The EP and music video were released on September 6.
