Reid Flair, Son Of Wrestling Legend Ric Flair, Dead At 24-Years-Old [VIDEO]

Reid Flair, the son of legendary wrestler Nature Boy Ric Flair, died at the age of 24, Friday.

There are no details of the death of real name, Richard Reid Filehr, PWInsider reported.

Reid made the move from amateur wrestler to pro, attempting to follow in the footsteps of his father, who is a WWE hall of famer and recognized as a 16-time world champion, which is the most in pro wrestling history.

According to Reid's Twitter account, he was scheduled to wrestle in Maryland this weekend with his father.

"Two shows in Maryland this weekend with @RicFlairNatrBoy. Good #wrestling and even better times ahead," Reid tweeted Thursday.

The 24-year-old battled a heroin addiction in the past few years, PWInsider reported. The youngest son of Ric Flair was arrested on drug possession charges and driving under the influence in two separate incidents in 2009. It is not known if drugs were a connected to his death.

Reid was currently working what is known as the "independents" of wrestling companies. He did get a chance to wrestle at an All Japan Pro Wrestling event in January, replacing the Nature Boy, who was suffering from a blood clot.

"Happy Birthday to my son @reid_flair who's wrestling in Japan right now. So proud of you and love you!" Ric Flair tweeted at his son for his 24th birthday.

Ric was removed from WWE's Monday Night Raw this Monday because of an issue with a blood clot.

PWInsider reported that most likely Flair will not make any of his scheduled appearances during the week of WWE's biggest pay-per-view of the year, Wrestlemania and the scheduled appearance with Reid in Maryland.

Reid's death is quickly being talked about on Twitter and former promoter of Ric, Eric Bischoff, sent his condolences.

"Heavy heart. Our thoughts, prayers, and sympathy to Ric Flair and family at the passing of Reid Flair. Such a sad day," Bischoff, who was the boss of Ric during his career at WCW tweeted.
