Red Velvet Top 7 Digital Music Charts Upon Release Of New Single 'Dumb Dumb'

Rookie groups often have to claw their way into the spotlight after debut, often competing with veterans who have an established fan base as well as other rookies.

Red Velvet however seems to have floated to the top in the same way that their legs are floating of the box in their latest music video.

Red Velvet is having an extremely successful release so far for the title track of their first full length album "The Red." The title track "Dumb Dumb" topped several real-time music charts within hours of its release including Melon, Genie, Naver Music, Olleh Music, Bugs, and Sorbada. Alongside "Dumb Dumb," Soompi reports that several other songs from "The Red" are sustaining spots in the top 10.

On their live broadcast on "V," Red Velvet expressed their hopes for the success of "Dumb Dumb."

"We wish it to become a very addictive track so everyone can sing along. We want it to become a track that you cannot listen to during exam weeks," they said (via Allkpop).

It would appear the girls have gotten their wish as in addition to topping the music charts, the "Dumb Dumb" music video achieved over 1 million views within just nine hours of being posted online. While the video does have a creepy vibe, fans are still finding the concept of creepy yet cute as fresh and exciting.
