SHINee member Key helped out his junior label mates Red Velvet by encouraging fans to support the girl group's new album.

Red Velvet is promoting their first full album The Red, so what's a fellow SM Entertainment senior to do but give them a shout-out on his Instagram.

Key posed with Red Velvet and posted about it on his Instagram for his more than 2.3 million followers to see.

"#redvelvet #dumb" wrote Key, a simple but effective message to make the new Red Velvet album go viral with those hashtags.

The photo shows Key holding a copy of the new Red Velvet album, and he even wore a red-and-black striped sweater that matched the girl's hair color.

Key also took the opportunity to get closer with his junior label mates such as asking Red Velvet member Irene to get comfortable with him.

The additional exposure seems to be helping Red Velvet as their newly released music video for lead track "Dumb Dumb" has reached more than 2 million views a day after releasing on September 8.

Aside from "Dumb Dumb," Red Velvet has recorded nine other tracks for The Red album, which is already available to download on iTunes.

Meanwhile, Key has been practicing for a new musical, having just finished promotions with SHINee for their 4th repackage album Married to the Music.
