Expectations Rise Ahead Of Girls' Generation Member Taeyeon's 1st Solo Album

A member of Girls' Generation is set to release her first solo album.

Kim Taeyeon is in the midst of working on her first album, SM Entertainment said on Thursday. Taeyeon is widely regarded as one of SM Entertainment's most talented vocalists, and has participated in countless drama soundtracks and musical collaborations.

Her album is set to drop in Autumn, but the release date has yet to be confirmed, says SM.

Taeyeon debuted as the leader of Girls' Generation in 2007, and since then has been featured on all of the group's albums as a lead vocalist. She also has released over ten songs, either as a soloist or featured artist.

Taeyeon's recent collaboration "Scars Deeper Than Love" with senior Korean artist Yim Jae Bum swept Korean music charts, reports Enews"Scars Deeper Than Love" is the remake of a duet that Yim released with Park Jung Hyun in 1997, and was released as part of Yim's 30th anniversary project.

It was first reported in May that Taeyeon would be the first member of Girls' Generation to release a solo album.

Taeyeon is the first member of Girls' Generation to join a growing line-up of SM Entertainment idol group members to debut as soloists, joing Super Junior-M's Henry and Zhou Mi, f(x)'s Amber, and SHINee's Jonghyun and Taemin.

Earlier this month, industry insiders said that Taeyeon and Girls' Generation's Tiffany are both preparing solo albums.

Taeyeon is currently promoting Girls' Generation's recent album, "Lion Heart," with the rest of her group.
