Lorde Might Release New Album This Year! Singer Compares Upcoming Release With ‘Pure Heroine’

Lorde is expected to release a new album and it may come this year if everything goes according to plan for the singer, rumors state.

However, in a recent interview with the 18-year-old songstress, she stated how different her new record could be as compared to her previous release, "Pure Heroine."

In an interview with BBC, the "Tennis Court" singer stated how different the first one is from the next release, basing on the experiences she encountered during the song writing process.

"I wrote the last album about that world which was the suburb where I grew up and populated by my friends and people who were really familiar to me," Lorde said of her new album. "Now I'm in a different place every day and I'm with new people every day and it's a different vibe."

In the same interview, Lorde also explained how things are going according to plan, revealing a potential earlier release date of the new album.

"We haven't got some planned out 'this is what it's going to sound like,'" she said. "I think we're just going to start writing and when it starts to feel right, we'll know that it's right. It's pretty simple really."

However, she said that she isn't rushing things as it could potentially take more time writing songs that actually recording them.

"I don't know where the inspiration comes from for stuff," the singer added. "You work and at some point you feel you suck for the first 10 hours and in the last hour in the studio something great happens. You just never know when it's going to come."

Although there are no official words regarding her release, rumors and speculations from fans point out that Lorde could potentially get her new album to hit the shelves later this year or as early as the first quarter of 2016.
