Former Victoria’s Secret Angel Karlie Kloss And Gigi Hadid Age Celebrated At New York Fashion Week; Taylor Swift’s BFF Get Letter Of Recommendation From Christy Turlington

New York Fashion Week: Victoria's Secret Angel Karlie Elizabeth Kloss, one of the top 30 models of the 2000s, opened the Fashion from the Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2016 collection at New York's Fashion Week and Gigi Hadid closed it. The two young fashion models bookended Diane von Furstenberg's New York Fashion Week show that featured the newest supermodels, including Kendall Jenner, Gigi's sister Bella Hadid, Irina Shyak, Lily Aldridge and Jourdan Dunn.

"I love women at the beginning of their life," Diane von Furstenberg said at the show.

"This collection is about celebration of woman, beauty, freedom and nature."

The Fashion show was attended by celebrities like Kate Upton, Victoria Justice and Tori Kelly. Music was provided by Drake and The Weeknd, who is dating Gigi's sister Bella Hadid.

Von Furstenberg debuted her iconic wrap dress in 1974  and the show had a 1970s nostalgic feel that would have fit at Studio 54 in its heyday.

"It's a lot about the details. It's about the patching. It's the freedom. It's the easiness. It's (for) a woman to feel like a goddess," Von Furstenberg said. "My daughter says I have no filter. I don't want to have a filter."

The new crop of models joins the famous supermodel trinity of the 90s, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, who made models as famous as movie stars

Karlie Kloss, 23, is cultivating a large social media into social activism for young women through Through Kode With Karlie, which let Kloss underwrite 21 computer coding scholarships for girls in 2015.

In a feature for Harper's Bazaar, Kloss recently sat for a lunch interview with Christy Turlington Burns, 46, who went back to school at the height of her modeling fame in 1994 to graduate from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at N.Y.U. and move on to Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.

Karlie Kloss began her freshman year at New York University this month. The wife of actor/director Ed Burns, who founded Every Mother Counts in 2010, wrote Kloss her college recommendation letter.

"It was all about my crush on Karlie in 500 words," Turlington told Harper's Bazaar. "She is going to take this education and blow it up. She's so eager and ready and thoughtful about her next steps."

"The whole idea of believing I could go to college, and model, comes straight from Christy. It's a lot to take on, but she did it. But I may ask for help with homework," Karlie Kloss added.

Both models were discovered they were 13 years old.

Karlie Kloss, who was a dancer before she became a supermodel, launched her own YouTube channel titled Klossy, which will be similar to  Kloss' Instagram vlogs. Kloss has amassed 2.8 million followers on Instagram.

Kloss' contract with Victoria's Secret as a Victoria's Secret Angel was renewed last year. Karlie Kloss has a net worth, according to Forbes, of $4 million. Besides Victoria's Secret, Kloss is a Nike-endorsed athlete, models for Marc Jacobs to Chanel Beauté, she just inked an new contract with L'Oreal, launched a brand of cookie and decided to go to college.

Karlie Kloss is one of the most sought after models in the world. The Klossy Youtube channel already has well over 100,000 subscribers. 300 million people have active Instagram accounts. YouTube can reach an audience of more than 1 billion users. Instagram boasts about 30 billion photos shared; YouTube averages over 157 billion minutes of video uploaded per year.

Kloss appeared in several video segments during Taylor Swift's 1989 World Tour and at the June, 27, 2015 performance at London's Hyde Park. Kloss also had a role in the music video for Swift's song "Bad Blood" which premiered at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. Earlier this year, Kloss and Taylor Swift covered the March issue of American Vogue together. Kloss also starred in the music video for Chic's "I'll Be There."
