Kim Hyun Joong Calls Emergency Press Conference Thursday To Reveal Results Of Paternity Test

Korean singer-actor Kim Hyun Joong will hold a press conference on Thursday regarding the newborn child of his estranged ex-girlfriend, known to the media only by her surname Choi.

On Sept. 17, Kim will meet with the press for the first time since enlisting in the Korean military on May 12. The press conference will address Kim's ongoing legal issues with Choi, as well as the paternity of Choi's child.

"We'll be revealing our position on Miss Choi's baby as well as the paternity test," Kim's lawyer stated, reports Allkpop.

Kim previously stated that if the child is his that he will take responsibility for it.

The press conference comes after conflicting reports regarding the paternity test, reports KDrama Stars.

Korean news outlets reported that Choi had both requested and denied the paternity test, and Kim Hyun Joong's father reportedly said that Choi refused to partake in a paternity test.

Kim and Choi have been embroiled in multiple legal cases since 2014, after Choi filed a criminal case against Kim for physical violence.

After the criminal case was dropped, Choi claimed that she was pregnant with Kim's child and filed a damages suit against Kim for leading to psychological pain and a previous miscarriage. Kim's side countered with a damages suit.

Kim rose to fame as the leader of K-pop idol group SS501 and from his role in several Korean dramas, including "Boys Over Flowers." He is currently enlisted in the Korean army, fulfilling his mandatory military service.
