Tool New Album Not Moving Forward; Maynard James Keenan Revealed The False Hope They Gave Fans

Tool singer Maynard James Keenan has been working on a new album with Puscifer but hasn't been giving any updates for Tool's upcoming record.

In a report by Metal Injection however, Keenan revealed what potentially has been giving Tool delays for their new album.

In a statement he said in an interview with Rolling Stone that his band mates might be the reason why they haven't progressed recently.

"I write lyrics and melodies to music," he revealed. "If I don't have music, I can't."

Recently, Keenan and Tool guitarist Adam Jones talked about their potential new album, wherein they revealed that they have already been working on it since after their trial.

"Our greatest strength is jamming and coming up with stuff," Jones told Rolling Stone. "We're doing that really well now and I'm excited about everything we're working on. Some of it's really heavy, some of it's really complex and some is more atmospheric, but it's definitely Tool."

The group went to face a challenge after facing a lawsuit that got the band busy for almost a decade.
As time passed, Jones revealed in the interview how they found the right person for the job to finish their almost 10 years of trial.

"We're going to trial and we want to crush them," he said. "But every time we've gotten close to going to trial, it gets postponed and we've wasted money and time and it has just drained our creative energy. We bought an insurance policy for peace of mind, but instead we would have been better off if we never had it and just dealt with the original lawsuit."
