'Top 5' Best March Comebacks Countdown

March was the month of comebacks for so many of our favorite idol groups - a great start to the spring season that leaves us all anxious to see what is next for the world of K-Pop in the warm months of the year.

Shinhwa celebrated their 15th anniversary with a sold out show in Seoul, Boyfriend is back with some major success in Japan, and even our beloved G.NA is killing it on the music shows with her latest single.

With so many fabulous new singles, albums, and comeback stages - it is hard to keep track of it all, but no fear, we are here to help! In case you missed your favorite idols in action, here is a countdown of the most impressive comebacks of March.

5. Davichi

Pop-ballad duo Davichi returned with their second studio album, Mystic Ballad Part 2, on March 18 and it quickly rose to the top of the digital real time charts throughout South Korea.

Earlier in the month the loveable ladies pre-released the single "Turtle" featuring Hyoyoung of 5dolls. The song was instantly popular worldwide and within a matter of days was at No. 1 on the Gaon single chart as well as No. 2 on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100. Two weeks later the second single, "Just the Two of Us," was released, along with the music video. On March 21 Davichi performed the single live on"M! Countdown" and a week later they won the coveted #1 spot on the show, their 15th music show win since they debuted in 2008.

And Davichi is not through yet. April 1 they also released another single, Be Warned, which was removed from Mystic Ballad Part 2 at the last minute. Perhaps it was a marketing scheme? At any rate, "Be Warned" achieved the "all-kill" for reaching No. 1 on every digital real time chart in Korea.

4. U-KISS

March 7 was an exciting day for U-KISS fans who finally were able to welcome back the idol group after over a year of separation. They released their third full-length album, Collage, with the promotional track, "Standing Still." The title track was performed on "Show Champion" the day before its official release and received high praise from fans.

Collage has some interesting points that make the U-KISS comeback one to be remembered. For starters, AJ returned from his studies in New York and he and Eli have a duet together on the album titled "Party All the Time" - a fun, upbeat track that gives the two a chance to stand out on their own. Kevin's vocal abilities were also made clear in his solo, "My Reason" and another song, "Love Is Pain," showcased Soohyun and Hoon' talents.

While Collage may not be the best effort from U-KISS, it is definitely enjoyable and gave the guys some fond recognition during the busy comeback month of March.

3. 2AM

After a year-long hiatus, 2AM came back with a vengeance - and a hit album, One Spring Day. The album marks a significant musical transformation for the ballad-belting boys and features several collaborations with other talented artists.

Although relatively short as far as full-length albums go (eight tracks plus one instrumental), it is supremely enjoyable, mellow listen. They songs really showcase the vocal abilities of each of the members, particularly Seulong who plays more prominence in many of the tracks. As with 2AM's previous singles, the harmonizing in unmatched in the industry. The title track "One Spring Day" performed well after its release on March 5, soaring to No. 1 in just about every music chart in Korea.

Taken as a whole, the album is cohesive, relaxed and satisfying - and definitely worth waiting a year for!

2. INFINITE

The seven-member boy band made their comeback March 21 with "Man in Love," their 4th mini album, New Challenge, and a new group logo. While the single is arguably their weakest to date, it has been performing well in the charts. But perhaps what is most shocking about this comeback is that it ignited renewed interest in INFINITE's previous albums as well. Infinitize, the wildly popular 2011 release from the idol group was one of the top 10 best-selling K-Pop albums of 2012 and its popularity is still growing. By the end of the month, it was out-selling the new releases from other popular groups like SHINee and B.A.P.   Perhaps this is the INFINITE charm? Fan interest is at an all-time high for the group, proving that they have significant market dominance.

New Challenge showed a new direction for Infinite whose strong, synchronized dance moves and powerfully masculine image have been the mainstay for previous releases. The new EP is full of lovey-dovey feelings and romanticism, and even included Woohyun's first self-composed song, "Beautiful."

1. Lee Hi

At the top of the comeback list for March has to be 16-year-old Lee Hi. After her breakout performance with the chart-topping "1,2,3,4" last year, there were high expectations for the young singer. Amid swirling scandal rumors surrounding her label YG Entertainment and the breakup of her former group the Supearls, she was able to set herself apart from the rest in the month of March. Partly due to her powerful vocals, partly because of some superb help and support from her label-mates, Lee Hi's first album, First Love, was an instant success.

Her promotional single "It's Over" and the now popular "Rose" have carved out a spot for the talented youngster in the market and it is clear, she will only go up from here. This kid has some major pipes and is already at the top of her game, it will be interesting to see where she goes from here.
