The 7 Best Korean Face Washes And Cleansers For Dry Skin

By Rachelle D. | September 26, 2015 05:54 PM EDT

Hello, dry skinned people of the world! You who scratch at your irritated face or go through gallons of moisturizer a month. We get it! Dry skin is no fun.

Too often, people with dry skin find that some cleanser is too harsh for their skin and choose to smother their face in cream instead of clean it. That's a huge mistake. All skin, no matter how irritated or dry, needs to be freed from dirt and allowed to restore and glow just like an oily-skinned person's face.

Stars like Goo Hara have shared their secrets to conquering dry skin. Hers is a cucumber facial. Effective, but the first steps in the 10-step Korean beauty routine is cleansing, so make sure you do a nice deep clean first.

We've got a handful of cleansers in a variety of price ranges that aren't designed to strip all the essential oils and moisture from your skin. These cleansers know they can't be very intrusive. Instead, they're going to feel creamy and soothing on your skin, gently remove the grime

Missha Near Skin Extra Renew Cleansing Foam

This product from Missha touts itself as "self-recovery." That means that instead of using harsher ingredients that might do wonders on oily skin but tend to dry out drier skin, it's using healing products like botanical oils and yucca extracts, which are closer to your skin's natural pH levels, to get away grime without extracting the natural oils and moisture that you need.

Nature Republic Soothing and Moisture Aloe Vera Foam Cleanser

It's no secret that Aloe Vera is a healing and moisturizing product, which makes this cleanser especially great for skin that's painfully dry, for instance from cold weather.  The affordable price tag on this product is a nice bonus, too.

Mizon Snail Cushion Foam Cleanser

This is a great product for dry skin that might not feel overly cracked or irritated, but is a little dry and lacks the sunny glow that more hydrated skin emits.

Banila co. Clean It Zero Sherbet Cleanser

This is a total cleansing experience. Open the container and you can immediately smell the sweet sherbet smell. As you put it onto your fingertips, it feels like a solid balm. But once you spread it onto your face, it turns into an oily cleanser that gently gets rid of all makeup and leaves skin feeling super clean but not too dry.

Mamonde Moisture Melting Cleansing Balm

Here's another one that goes on like a balm but the silky ingredients like rose hips oil, shea butter, and lavender oil make sure that skin feels super hydrated even after a deep clean.

Su:m37? Skin Saver Essential Cleansing Foam

This is on the higher end for pricing, but a little goes a long way. The cleanser feels like a gel at first but gets foamy and smooth as it is massaged into a face. It's also very Korean, using two of the country's favorite things - fementation and seaweed - to guarantee renewed, moist skin after a wash.

SKINFOOD Wildberry Milk Cleansing Foam

SKINFOOD's food-based products are always going to smell and feel luscious, so that's a given here. This one lathers extra well so that the clean feels deep and smooth even hours after washing it off.
