JYJ Could Give The Late Michael Jackson A Run For His Money – 'More Splendid And Impressive Than The King Of Pop'

Pop trio JYJ is in the midst of their run at the Tokyo Dome and judging by the reviews, they are absolutely killing it.

All three days worth of seats for the shows were sold out in record time - all 150,000 tickets - with estimates that another 150,000 people were vying for the chance to attend the concerts.

After the initial show on April 2, Kyodo Yokohama, who leads Japan's largest concert promotion company, called it "the concert everyone has been waiting for." He then went on to compare JYJ's musical presence to that of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

"You can compare it to a concert by Michael Jackson, and the dances are even more splendid and impressive." High praise from an industry leader, and judging by their response, the Japanese fans agree.

Despite not having been able to promote in Japan for the past three years after the cancellation of their Avex contract, JYJ was able to maintain a solid fan base in the country through various music releases and acting pursuits.

It was reported that posters for the members' hit TV dramas "Rooftop Prince" and "Dr. Jin" were being sold around the Tokyo Dome to the tens of thousands of JYJ fans who had flocked to see the first show since the group's hiatus.

With the Tokyo Dome concerts, JYJ has definitely secured superstar status. A representative from Japan's largest advertising firm explained, "That all three of JYJ's concerts sold out despite the fact that they're taking place on the weekdays proves that the group harnesses great power as an artist. JYJ is attractive as a musician group, but it also appeals to the heart."

Just as popular, and according to many, more impressive than the late Michael Jackson, JYJ have just found themselves on top of the K-Pop universe.
