Starship Entertainment To Take Legal Action In Response To Chart Manipulation Rumors

Starship is finally retaliating against netizens after years of accusations and rumors.

Starship Entertainment, home of SISTAR, K. Will, Monsta X, Boyfriend, and other popular groups, have stated that they will begin to take legal action against those who spread rumors of chart manipulation, make personal attacks, and/or post malicious comments online.

On September 25th, the agency released an official statement that said that they are already in the process of filing a lawsuit against those who repeatedly spread negative rumors about their artists.

"Starship's artists have been the subject of false rumors and have been repeatedly slandered online," read the statement. "There have been many rumors of [chart manipulation] or other malicious statements. Our artists have been emotionally harmed by these statements, and their accomplishments are the result of hard work and perseverance."

"We have made our decision to no longer overlook what is happening," the company asserted.

Negative comments surrounding the recent success of Soyou's newest collaboration song, "Lean On Me," prompted the entertainment company to take action.

Although Melon (an online streaming site) clarified that the song showed no signs of unfair manipulation, many online commenters were unsatisfied with that answer and instead accused Starship of engaging in illegal chart manipulation to raise the popularity of the new track.

Starship stated that in the future, they will aggressively respond to any slander or unfounded rumors.
