The 7 Best Korean Face Washes And Cleansers for Oily Skin

All skin is not created equally! And today is oily skin's time to shine - but hopefully not literally. Oily skin can happen to anyone at any time - maybe it's hot weather, stress, hormones, or maybe it's just your good ol' genes.

Whatever the reason, the goal with oily skin is to make sure it is cleaned, moisturized, and bright without leaving too many of the dirty oils behind and without going too extreme and completely drying out your skin. We've put together a handful of Korean cleansers that are great at combatting oil and leaving skin bright, refreshed, and seriously un-greasy.

If you have dry skin, check out our recent recommendations for face wash better suited to your skin.

Aromatica Tea Tree Balancing Foaming Cleanser

If your oily skin also leads to blemishes like pimples and blackheads, this is a great option for you. The product contains burdock extract, which is great at getting rid of the problem oils but still allowing skin to be healthfully hydrated and bright. Plus, there's a lot of aloe vera extract in here, making it a soothing cleanser rather than one that simply thinks drying out your blemishes is the answer. (It's not.)

Tony Moly Clean Dew Lemon Foam Cleanser

This is a great product for people that want to purge those nasty oils but still want to come away with a brightened, glowing (and lemony fresh!) face. The Lemon Foam one is also great for budget conscious oily skinned people: the price tag is about as low as good face washes go. Plus, a little bit goes a long way.

Innisfree Jeju Bija Anti-Trouble Facial Foam

This is a very gentle cleanser that might not erase serious acne problems, but it should help to clear skin and reduce redness without any dryness problems.

Laneige Pore Deep Clearing Foam

Laneige is known for its luxurious products, and this one is no exception. It goes on super creamy, and should leave skin feeling extra clean and smooth, especially if you take an extra minute or two to really massage this foam into your face. This one is actually good for all skin types, but with oily or troubled skin it really goes the extra mile by using the clove extract in here to prevent too much sebum from piling up again.

Amore Pacific Mamonde Pore Deep Clean Foam

Along with containing gentle ingredients that are close to normal pH skin levels, this product has a key element leads to a clean, oil-free face - there are tiny exfoliating beads in here that provide a little extra oomph when getting rid of excess oils or blackheads and provide that super-clean feeling afterwards.

Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil

One of the rules of Korean skincare is that even oily skinned people have to be unafraid to put some oil on their face. This is a great first step to following that admittedly hard-to-follow rule. This is a gentle cleanser that is best used as a first cleanse to remove the rough stuff like heavy makeup, sunscreen, or residue from pollution. Super oily or teenage skin might find this a bit too much to use as a single cleanser, but when used as a first step along with a foam cleanser, toner, and serum, this is a great gentle wash that really gets rid of grit.

Skinmiso Rice Foam Cleansing

This is another product that is technically designed for all skin types, and might be better suited to a combination skin or the oily skin of a person who is above the age of 30 (when keeping some moisture in skin is essential). But is really great at balancing the water to sebum levels in skin. In effect, it reads your skin, figures out what it should chuck and what it should leave behind.
