Emilia Clarke Not Joining ‘Terminator: Genisys' Sequel Cast? Star Wins Big In 'GQ' Award

"Terminator: Genisys" actress Emilia Clarke may not be included in the film's sequel but she has certainly won the hearts of many not only with her good looks but character as well.

Early this month, the English actress received "GQ" magazine's prestigious "Woman of the Year" Award.

The award did not validate the 28-year-old star's thespian skills in the "Terminator" reboot, but on the other hand, highlighted the impact she has made in the entertainment industry for her portrayal of strong-willed women.

The Emmy-nominated actress was presented the "Woman of the Year" award by Sam Claflin, who described her as "Fair and deserving, hardworking and kind...the busiest bee...the 'Game of Thrones'' greatest find."

The recognition was a vindication of sorts for Emilia Clarke, who received a lot of flak for her portrayal as Sarah Connor in the "Terminator: Genisys" sequel.

"She's not only ridiculously talented, the best of the batch. She's got a really good smile with characteristics to match. She's had 'Breakfast at Tiffany's,' filmed opposite Jude Law, killed machines beside Arnie, and still has more in store," Claflin added.

In her acceptance speech, the Emmy-nominated actress said that she was "very lucky to play very strong women on screen."

She also took the opportunity to laud women across the world who are facing enormous challenges, saying, "We'd like to turn our minds to the real women of strength today [who are] struggling..."

Meanwhile, if producers had their way, Emilia Clarke should not be part of any "Terminator" sequel after her allegedly dismal showing in "Genisys," according to an earlier report by Dish Nation.

"Sadly her acting ability has been called into question and has in part been blamed for the film's flop," an insider told Dish Nation.

"Of course it's not all her fault, but they basically don't want her back. They're saying she doesn't have the star power they thought she did," the insider added.

Many thought that Emilia Clarke, who is widely-recognized for her portrayal of dragon queen Daenerys Targaryen in HBO's "Game of Thrones," would help pull in the numbers that would guarantee a sequel for "Terminator: Genisys."
