'Allegiant' To 'Deviate Wildly' From Book? Shailene Woodley, Theo James Spill Details About 'The Wall'

The trailer for the "Divergent" sequel, "Allegiant," was just released and it shows Shailene Woodley and Theo James scaling the wall and venture into the wasteland, which might be more dangerous than the enclosed Chicago.

Theo James shared to Entertainment Tonight what it's like to film the scene in "Allegiant."

"We did this bit when Shai had to be facing down and I had to be the other way, and it was a little daunting," he said.

Shailene Woodley chimed in, "I was facing the ground, walking backwards. I was holding onto Theo's shoulder like it was the last thing!"

It was already reported that "Allegiant" will deviate from the book of Veronica Roth. One of the biggest changes was the box reffered to in the movie, which wasn't present in the novels.

"The entire premise of the Insurgent movie was discovering what's inside a mysterious box, which can only be opened by someone who is Divergent (like Shailene Woodley's Tris, for instance)," USA Today said.

But Veronica Roth is fine with the changes, in an interview with Vulture, but she was adamant that Shailene Woodley's character should die in "Allegiant."

"I talked to Shailene [Woodley] about how she reacted to the ending, and she really enjoyed the way that it ended," the 26-year-old writer said. "I don't know. I wrote Allegiant that way because I thought that was the way it needed to be told, and so I feel very strongly about it, obviously."

But for fans, the two-part "Allegiant" movies could still have another ending where Tris will survive and live happily ever after with Four, played by Theo James.

Veronica Roth seems satisfied with the writers' decision to introduce the box, who can only be unlocked by somebody who is 100% Divergent.

In a Tumblr post, Veronica Roth wrote, "Insurgent is great- and fun to watch. It is a tense, action-packed adventure of a movie. At certain points, my muscles were so clenched I felt like I had just done a series of push-ups. When I left, I immediately wanted to go back in and see it again."
