Big Bang G-Dragon's World Tour Receives Rave Reviews From US Billboard: 'Eye-Popping,' 'Like Michael Jackson'

Top US music media outlet Billboard has brought the spotlight on K-Pop artists with a remarkable interview with G-Dragon.

Last Thursday, with a written article and 15 minutes of video footage, Billboard covered the kick-off Seoul performance of G-Dragon's first solo world tour, 'One of a Kind.'

"The vibrant, two-hour, Michael Jackson-level affair had begun," Billboard reported on the concert. "With eye-popping props, numerous outfit changes, multiple LED screens flashing video visuals, and dazzling laser lights, the highly-energetic performer moved through a remixed version of his monster solo debut single 'Heartbreaker' and knocking track 'One Of a Kind.'"

Billboard also interviewed the creative directors for G-Dragon's world tour, Travis Payne and Stacey Walker. In the video interview, Ms. Walker is full of praise for G-Dragon, comparing him to other pop icons. "Sometimes he even reminds me of Michael[Jackson], sometimes [of Lady Gaga] he's got those ga-ga-isms."

Prior to this interview, Billboard had also been quick to cover G-Dragon's hit single, 'MichiGO.'

Jeff Benjamin, the writer who covered the single, described MichiGO as a song that is "aggressive...catchy, reptititive with a recurrent dubstep breakdown." There is also much hype surrounding the release of MichiGO because of the downloading method which will also be made available to the public for the first time with the unveiling of the song via the messenger app Line.

In other news, G-Dragon will open his concert on Saturday (April 6) in Japan at the Yahoo! Fukuoka Dome.
