Bioware's 'Mass Effect' Theme Park Attraction To Open In 2016? What Can Fan Expect In This Wonderland?

Bioware’s “Mass Effect” will become a theme part attraction.

Theme parks are another way to get immersed into another world and being able to ride fun rides is all part of the entertainment. It’s a gamers dream to step into an amusement park with everything from a video game materialize in real life.

It seems that video games are beginning to take that leap and give fans a taste of how the video game they play is like in real life. Bioware’s “Mass Effect” theme ride will be reportedly opening at Santa Clara, California at California’s Great America next year.

Bioware is said to be teaming up with Cedar Fair in order to create a 3D adventure set in the “Mass Effect” universe that park goers will be able to enjoy.

According to IGN, the attraction is described to be a “dynamic 3D adventure” that will be hosted by a live performer. This is meant to make the park goers feel like they are part of the whole journey. Guests will have to face-off against various enemies and try to save the day.

“Using cutting-edge 3D technology and 4D effects, the ride throws passengers right into the action, creating a fantastical adventure that they won’t soon forget,” as stated in the Bioware Blog.

“Teaming with a world-wide gaming leader like EA will enable us to build an incredible user experience for Great America guests,” said California’s Great America Vice President and General Manager Raul Rehnborg on Destructoid.

He continued, “This combination of technology and creative video game content is sure to usher in a new wave of entertainment innovation at amusement parks.”

Bioware’s “Mass Effect” isn’t the first video game franchise-turned-park attraction. Weeks ago it was reported that Nintendo allegedly has plans to get into the theme park business, while Ubisoft has already announced some of their rides.
