'Wayward Pines' Season 2 Renewal News: Fox May Let M. Night Shyamalan And Blake Crouch Follow Mythology To Maintain 'High Level Of Integrity' For Wayward Pines Season 2

'Wayward Pines' Season 2 Renewal: There might be a new generation in charge of Wayward Pines. According to reports, Fox has not squashed the possibility of a second season. Fox has not officially renewed "Wayward Pines" for season 2, but executive producer M. Night Shyamalan told Fox5NY that he might have a last-reel twist that will revive the show.

"Perhaps for us it's another miniseries event if [author] Blake [Crouch] is prepared to lay that mythology into the further book series," Fox Entertainment Group CEO Dana Walden said on Community Voices,

"They've just started having conversations about it. We're pleased with the performance of the show. We're interested in hearing in what they come to us with."

Shyamalan and Crouch have reportedly brainstorming for a "Wayward Pines" story that maintains a "high level of integrity."

Shannyn Sossamon recently opened up to Nylon magazine about coming back to Hollywood for season 2 of "Wayward Pines." When she first hit Tinsel town she was quickly noticed.

"I was just totally not ready for that," Sossamon told Nylon.

"And didn't even want it in a way. It's a privilege, it's a great job...I'm not complaining, but I don't know; I've got a lot of 'Type A' in me. I like to have more ground beneath my feet and really understand where I am and what the goal is and what I want."

Now that she's returned to acting, she is open to more possibilities.

"It's exciting now to want to do it again," Sossamon said.

"Desire, for all of us, is totally necessary to do anything worthwhile. I questioned that for a long time, and I thought maybe I just don't want to, maybe I don't love it, but I think it's just happening when it's supposed to happen."

"I'm a creative person, so there are other things I can do and I can be easily distracted," she added. "But [acting] felt like it was supposed to be. I like to think it chose me instead of me choosing it, and I think I'm taking that very seriously now."

The actress said things have change since she became a mother.

"I like to look at the birth of my first son as a blessing of course, and he's just the joy of my life and my soulmate," Sossamon said.

"I can't imagine life without him, so it's weird to think the other way. He completely grounded me and made me look at myself, and my life just became completely different. It was just a gift, and perfect timing, too."
