EXO's Chanyeol And Xiumin Cast As Main Leads In New On-Screen Projects

EXO is one of K-pop's leading groups, but now some of the members are becoming leading men.

Both Xiumin (Kim Min Seok) and Chanyeol (Park Chanyeol,) members of EXO, will take on leading roles in upcoming projects. Chanyeol was cast as the male lead in a Chinese film, while Xiumin was cast as a lead in a Korean web series.

Both EXO members have previously acted, but these are each of their biggest roles to date.

On Oct. 2, SM Entertainment, EXO's agency, revealed that Chanyeol accepted the lead male role in the Chinese film, "So I Married My Anti-Fan."

The same day, it was announced that Xiumin will be paired up with Korean actress Kim So Eun in the upcoming web series, "Falling For Challenge."

"So I Married My Anti-Fan," is a film based on a novel about a top star who falls in love with a reporter. The female lead has not yet been announced.

Chanyeol previously had a main role in EXO's web series, "EXO Next Door" and had a supporting role in the April release film, "Salut d'Amour.

"Falling For Challenge" will be about the two falling in love after being part of the same college extracurricular club. Xiumin will play Na Do Jeon, a man who works as a part-time clown, while Kim will play Ban Ha Na, a woman who wants to own a food truck.

Xiumin made his debut as an actor in the yet to be released film, "Kim Seon Dal." Kim most recently appeared in the drama "Scholar Who Walks The Night," and is known for her roles in "Boys Over Flowers" and "Liar Game."

Along with taking on new acting roles, Chanyeol and Xiumin are preparing for their Japanese debut alongside the rest of EXO.
