Hallyu fans welcome a new celebrity couple to the public eye. 

Alex Chu (32) of electropop group Clazziquai and Cho Hyunyoung (24) of K-pop girl group Rainbow have confirmed their relationship, but admit they are still getting to know each other on a more intimate level.

"Right now, we are getting to know each other better. [It is true that] we are dating," Hyunyoung confirmed to X Sports News, as reported by Soompi. She also said the two have been an item for a relatively short time.

"It has been a month since they started going out," confirmed a rep for Alex to Koren media outlets. "After being introduced to each other through a mutual acquaintance, they first kept in touch as a sunbae (senior) and a hoobae (junior), but soon started developing warm feelings for each other."

With an eight year age difference, the newly partnered stars are not the only ones to make headlines recently. Last week, 22-year-old pop star IU (Lee Ji Eun) and indie rocker Jang Kiha, himself 33, also went public with their relationship.

Hyunyoung is the main vocalist and youngest member of K-pop girl group Rainbow. She was previously a trainess under SM Entertainment, but went on to debut with Rainbow in 2009. She is also a member for Rainbow's sub-unit, Rainbow BLAXX.

Alex, is both a singer and an actor. He is the male vocalist for the electropop group Clazziquai and was part of the cast for SBS's hit TV drama My Lovely Girl, alongside K-pop stars Rain, INFINITE's L, and f(x)'s Krystal.
