The PlayStation 4 has been out in the market for over a year now and some gamers are looking to outsmart Sony with various Jailbreak downloads for different firmware.

In a report by Game Zone, few developers have tried to create pirated game-specific bugs that would sometimes allow gamers to illegally download games for free, which is what a jailbreak download for a PlayStation 4 would normally do.

According to Assemblage, one example is from a simple upgrade, called the Raspberry PI.

The said hardware would sort of be a hack that enables people with this installed get games and run unsigned codes.

"The hack originates from a Russian website and has been pushed into the public by Brasilian retailers," Game Zone reported. "The hack isn't necessarily a jailbreak for the PS4, nor is it a homebrew technique. It works like this: A retail PS4, with several games installed on it, has it's entire game database and operating system (including NAN/BIOS) dumped onto a hacked PS4 via Raspberry Pi."

In addition to that, Assemblage also noted that PlayStation 4 jailbreak downloads that are scattered in the interwebs are mainly bogus and would only let "victims" download an unconfirmed file that would tell them to complete a survey before proceeding with the download, only to learn that the download wouldn't work.

According to the site, the surveys would only benefit the hackers or developers since they would earn money every time someone fills up the survey for them.

"If you just found an unknown website that claims to provide a CFW or jailbreak for the PS4, be extremely careful. Such sites are usually trying to get you to answer some sort of survey in order to get the 'hack,'" the site claimed. This is how they make money in general (but this is not their only technique!), as they get paid for every person who completes a survey."

Bottom line, there are no confirmed Jailbreak downloads for the PlayStation 4 until now.
