Vampire Diaries Season 7 Rumors: Nina Dobrev Still Stalking Vampire Diaries; `Elena's Still A Very Big Part Of The Story,’ Leaks Paul Wesley

Vampire Diaries Season 7 Rumors: Nina Dobrev is not down for the count on the upcoming Vampire Diaries Season 7. Elena Gilbert will still have an impact in the "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 after "TVD" season 6 ended with her final kiss with Damon.

Amid word that "The Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev's romance with "Whiplash" actor Austin Stowell is flourishing, the former girlfriend of Ian Somerhalder who plays Damon Salvatore in the "The Vampire Diaries," might get a chance for another embrace.

Nina Dobrev's character Elena is still included in  'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7

IB Times reported that Elena's body is being kept safe because of a protection spell Bonnie cast, while she sleeps it all off in a crypt.

Paul Wesley who portrays Stefan in "The Vampire Diaries," told TV Insider that Dobrev will have a major part on season 7.

"Elena's still a very big part of the story," Wesley leaked.

Wesley said Damon will sense that Elena's body is in danger and will try to save it.

"Her body's in danger in the first few episodes, and Damon is doing everything he can to make sure it stays safe if and when she wakes up. We all had imagined this complete reboot where Elena was gone, but she's talked about so much!" Wesley told TV Insider.

Ian Somerhalder previously teased ET Online that Dobrev's character is still alive.

"There is a really incredible evolution of the story that is going to happen and she's still within the story," Somerhalder told ET Online.

"She's very much present in the hearts and the mind of all the characters."

"There is a brief run where Damon is exiled from Mystic Falls by his mother temporarily. And he has to go shack up with Alaric at Whitmore," Executive Producer Julie Plec told BuddyTV.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 premieres on Oct. 8 on The CW.
