Akdong Musician Release New Single To Promote Hangeul Day

YG Entertainment's sibling duo Akdong Musician (AKMU) released a new song in honor of Hangeul (the Korean alphabet) Day in Korea!

On Oct. 8, YG Entertainment announced the new single and music video according to Korea Herald. The song, titled "Like Ga Na Da," and its music video were then released on Oct. 9 through YG Entertainment's various social media sites and the group's official YouTube channel.

The song was released in partnership with Woori Card, a check card issued through Woori Bank that partnered up with YG Entertainment earlier this year for promotions.

Hangeul Day, celebrated every October 9, is a very special holiday in South Korea and marks the creation of the Korean alphabet by King Sejong in the year 1443. Its creation was, in large part, an effort to lessen illiteracy throughout the country, especially amongst lower class peoples.

"Like Ga Na Da" was written by Akdong Musician as part of a public campaign promoting Hangeul Day.

The song also marks Akdong Musician's first release since their incredibly popular "200%" and "Time And Fallen Leaves" from their first studio album Play.

The AKMU siblings Lee Chan Hyuk and Lee Soo Hyun appeared first on the reality singing program K-pop Star 2 where they were signed by YG Entertainment after winning the competition. Play was their first release since their victory on the program.
