TV personality and interior designer Nate Berkus is now engaged to boyfriend, Jeremiah Brent. They have been together for eight and a half months.

A rep for the couple confirmed to US Weekly that they are engaged to be married; no specific dates have been released as to when Nate and Jeremiah will tie the knot. Berkus, 41, reportedly asked for Brent’s hand in marriage atop Machu Picchu in Peru on Monday. Brent was said to have been completely blown over (in a good way) by his beau’s proposal, as they were both traveling for Berkus’ job. The couple was on a shopping trip for One Kings Lane for a project the interior designer is working on for the site.

Berkus is famously one of Oprah’s favorite interior designers and have found great recognition when the talk-show icon has invited him on her show. He has been a regular ever since and has become a TV mainstay. He had his own program, “The Nate Berkus Show” that aired from 2010 to 2012.

In what is described as one of his greatest loss, Berkus lost his longtime partner, Fernando Bengoechea, when he was killed by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. The couple was vacationing in one of the sites that was reached by the natural disaster that occurred over the holiday season of that year.

Brent, who is Rachel Zoe’s former personal assistant is based in L.A. Berkus is based in New York. The pair split their time between both coasts to accommodate their work and personal schedules.

Planning a wedding will add to Berkus’ already filled-up schedule. In addition to running a successful line of home goods at Target, he has added another title to his already multi-hyphenated career. That is the title of “author,” when he released the book, “The Things That Matter,” last October.

His engagement has already set the bar for many, we are expecting that his nuptial would be nothing but epic.
