Katy Perry Working A New Album? Singer Confirmed ‘Reinvention’ On Her Next Release

Katy Perry previously claimed that she would be releasing a new album in 2016 as a follow up to her hit record "Prism," which was released in 2013.

In a report by Idolator, even though Perry is still on the road to support her latest release, her manager confirmed that fans should have their eyes and ears wide open for her next release.

"She plans to release her next album by 2016," her manager Steven Jensen said in a conference recently.

In addition to that, Katy Perry revealed in another Idolator article that she plans on reinventing herself for her new album, staying away from the usual candy pop sound the singer has been accustomed to in the past few years.

"I also think it's important for me to maybe start reinventing myself," she said. "Because I can't keep topping myself because I'll just combust at some point. You can't keep topping yourself when you're at such a height. There's only one Mount Everest and once you've reached it, it's like where do you go from there? You've just got to sail somewhere else."

Her Prismatic World Tour is about to end this month as she has three stops remaining in Puerto Rico, Panama and Costa Rica on Oct. 12, 15 and 18, respectively.

In addition to her tour and new album news for Katy Perry, Eagle Rock Entertainment with Capitol Records revealed in a Music News report that the 30-year-old California singer would release a live DVD entitled "The Prismatic World Tour Live" on Blu-Ray, DVD and digitally.

The live disc would include performances during her tour that includes "Roar," "Firework," "I Kissed A Girl," "Dark Horse," "California Gurls" and "Hot N Cold," among others.

Although there are no official words of the singer's next move, Katy Perry is expected to work on her new album once she finished with her tour.
