CNBLUE: "What Sets Us Apart Is That We're A Band"

Singapore.  This small country is the privileged earlier stop of CNBLUE's Blue Moon 2013 World Tour.  Right after flying into the country for their concert this weekend, CNBLUE met with the press where they were their most candid selves.  Right before the high sun of noon, CNBLUE spent a bit of time answering questions.

Singapore has been one of those hot areas for K-pop recently, having hosted many K-pop acts that included the biggest names in the Hallyu wave such as BIG BANG, 2NE1 and the SM artists for SMTOWN. Naturally, while CNBLUE's concert tickets quickly sold out in Singapore, it is easy for a newcomer to K-pop to not understand the hype and think easily that it's just another K-pop band.  At the press conference, leader Jung Yong Hwa made it clear by saying, "We are different because we are a band."  "There are not many bands in Korea. So that makes us special," lead guitarist Jonghyun later added.

It looks like CNBLUE really is making that impression, uniqueness due to being a band, stick.  When asked whether they would take up acting projects again, drummer Kang Minhyuk, who starred in a high-rating drama recently, revealed that while he wouldn't turn away good work his focus this year will be their world tour.

The last comeback for CNBLUE was their Korean album, RE:BLUE, which offered a brand new color and their own compositions featured. Putting much emphasis to live performances, the band confirmed that for their world tour, they are letting go of the stage frills of changing wardrobes and the like, "Our focus is on making good music, so we will not be changing outfits a lot", they revealed.

CNBLUE will be having their sold-out concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, on Saturday, April 13th.
