Girls' Generation Member Yuri Settles In As Host Of Korea's 1st Rally Car Competition Program

Girls' Generation member Kwon Yuri hones in on her love of cars with her latest television project as host of Korea's first rally car show.

On Wednesday, Oct. 14, Yuri attended the production presentation press conference for SBS's new variety show The Rallyist at the SBS Prism Tower in Seoul.

"I like sports that involve speed, and I was also curious about the idea of finding Korea's first rally car driver," Yuri explained during the press conference, as reported by Chosun Ilbo. "I readily accepted the offer."

The Rallyist is South Korea's first-ever rally driver audition program and features drivers who compete in a variety of driving challenges in hopes of representing the country at the World Rally Championship.

Rally car driving is a form of auto racing that takes place on public or private roads, rather than a closed circuit, with modified or specially built road-legal cars.

The first episode aired on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 12:15 p.m. KST, and the last episode will air on Dec. 19. Yuri is hosting alongside announcer Bae Sungjae.

This is not the Girls' Generation singer's fist hosting gig. Yuri was an MC for MBC's Music Core from 2009 to 2012.
