Jimmy Fallon Injury News: Host Depressed Over Freak Accidents? Hurt Finger Was 'Wake Up Call’?

Jimmy Fallon seemed to be enjoying what might as well be dubbed as the second life of his ring finger. After the injury news, the "Tonight Show" host apparently felt bummed for some time.

As he told Bill Carter on Sirius XM more than a week ago, he never thought at the moment he tripped at home last June that his finger injury wasn't that serious.

"I almost lost this finger," he said. "It shouldn't be on my hand. It's a miracle."

"I was in shock," he added. "So I just thought it was broken. Sideways, it was all white, which was not good. It looked like plastic, like candle wax."

As the "Tonight Show" host described the gravity of the Jimmy Fallon injury news, he admitted the finger injury was the worst it could be and he felt sad about it.

"This is terribly depressing," he admitted. "I'm trying not to lose it right now. This is the worst you can imagine."

The "Tonight Show" host also admitted the same thing when he was interviewed by Billboard in September. But also shared he was trying his best to be optimistic. He even pointed out that he will be needing to undergo another surgery for his finger injury. The host already spent 10 days in the ICU when the hurt finger almost got ripped off his hand.

"It's a bummer, but you can't get depressed," he told the source above.

"Those moments - two seconds of your life - changes everything and you realize how lucky you are," he also told Carter as quoted by The Wrap.

The host also said he's still undergoing therapy to fully revive his fingers as it remains numb. He added that it will still take quite a long time before the hurt finger functions well again.

"My doctor said six months is when I'll probably get my feeling back," Jimmy Fallon said about the injury news as cited by Entertainment Tonight.
