Luhan Becomes Monkey King As He Gets Ready To Appear On Chinese Version Of 'Running Man'

Chinese star and former EXO member Luhan put on an amusing Monkey King costume for the promotional poster of his upcoming cast debut in Hurry Up, Brother, a Chinese show based on Running Man, a popular South Korean game variety show, reports Allkpop.

In the promotional poster, Luhan appears wearing a yellow outfit, red scarf and the trademark magical headband and staff of the legendary Monkey King or Sun Wukong, the hero in the Chinese classical novel Journey to the West.

Fittingly, Luhan will replace Chinese actor Bao Bei'er, who was recently cast for the Stephen Chow movie Journey to the West II: Conquering the Monsters which has begun filming and will be released sometime in 2017.

Luhan is expected to appear in the rest of the season 3 run of Hurry Up, Brother.

Despite still being embroiled in a legal battles with SM Entertainment to nullify his contract, the former EXO idol seems intent on establishing a flourishing entertainment career in China, with not only TV shows, but also movie roles, album releases and magazine covers.

Luhan also launched his solo album Reloaded last month with the title track "That Good Good,"

Luhan even landed the cover of Forbes China's top 100 Chinese celebrities issue, which ranked him in 37th place, an impressive feat considering his young age and relative fresh entry in the country's entertainment industry.

The actor is even set to gain even more international fame due to his casting in the Hollywood film The Great Wall opposite veteran actors Matt Damon and Willem Dafoe, which will hit theaters in 2016.
