"The Last Of Us 2" release date has been heavily talked about by gaming fans following the huge success of the post-apocalyptic game for the PS3 and PS4.

Voice actors of the game threw confirmations and denials about the fate of the PlayStation exclusive title during their appearances in a few gaming conventions.

According to a report from Game Rant, voice actor Nolan North hinted that Naughty Dog may in fact is working on a potential release date for "The Last Of Us 2."

"I know they're doing a 'Last of Us 2,'" North said after appearing in a recently held MetroCon panel.

More hints about the release date of the game being announced was revealed by community strategist Eric Monacelli, writer Josh Scherr and lead animator Eric Baldwin in a Naughty Dog live stream, which was reported by IGN.

"All the facial animation in the 'Uncharted' series was led up by Eric, here," he claimed, giving an impression and hint for "The Last Of Us 2" release date. "And [on] the first 'The Last of Us.' Uh, did I say the first The Last of Us?"

Meanwhile, a report from Movie Pilot revealed the potential plot of the game, saying how the main character Joel may be killed off of the game and that "The Last Of Us 2" would have Ellie on an adventure of her own.

"If the sequel features the same characters and the same setting, most of us, if not all, don't want Joel to return," the report stated.

"Imagine an emotional scene where Joel dies in Ellie's arms, trying to save her from the Infected, maybe trying to kill a stage 5 Infected which got removed from the first game. After that, Ellie is all on her own, fighting for her survival. The game could feature many emotional scenes of Ellie remembering Joel."

Although there are no official announcements regarding the release date of "The Last Of Us 2," experts and fans suggest that the game may happen in the next few years since Naughty Dog is focused on the release of "Uncharted 4" for now.

The said game is reportedly set for a March 2016 release.
