Wardrobe Inspection: K-Pop's Best Dressed October 2015

October was quite the month for K-pop! There was a slew of debuts and numerous comebacks from artists including f(x), IU, Topp Dogg and many more! Let's check out the top trends for October!

 “4 Walls” by f(x)

Fans rejoiced when f(x) announced their highly anticipated fall comeback this month. Contrary to their previous track “Red Light,” “4 Walls” takes a lighter more refreshing electronica tone type of approach. The fashion featured in the “4 Walls” music video is relaxed and featured common clothing style and patterns from the late 70’s and even the early 90’s.

“Rhythm Ta” by iKON

YG’s newest idol, iKON helped kick off the month of October by dropping two new music video for their official debut. Their title track “Rhythm Ta” brought some extra heat to the fall weather. The music video featured a street style athletic gear approach with the boys donned in basketball uniforms and locker room robes. Other scenes featured iKON in the classic hip-hop attire with jeans, baggy T-shirts, and hoodies. iKON swooned fans with a special scene with sleek black attire as well.

“Twenty-three” by IU

The singer that celebrated her 23rd (Korean age) birthday this year made her comeback this fall with a more mature looking concept than some of her previous works. Staying true to her signature vintage style dresses, the songstress also incorporate a new sexy purple and black striped number showing off her slim legs. Despite the song speaking of wanting to stay a child, IU definitely displays a more mature looks this time around.

 “Closer” by OH MY GIRL

Rookie girl group OH MY GIRL made their comeback this October with the mystical track “Closer.” The song and music video give off a fairytale theme tone and appearance different from some current girl groups. The eight-member girl group sport loose tennis style skirt with matching white puritan collared tops. Each member also has their own dress for individual scene yet each dress has a lace element. One particular scene in the music video also seems to play off a Little Red Riding Hood theme.

“Higher” by Stephanie (The Grace) featuring L.Joe of Teen Top

Following up her “Black Out” track, Stephanie of girl group The Grace released smooth hip-hop track “Higher.” The dancer took the average basketball uniform and turned it into a sexy ensemble showing off her S-line. Stephanie as well showed off her figure in slimming black one piece unveiled at the start of the music video.

 “Yesterday” by JYJ’s XIA

XIA returned this fall with yet another heartstring pulling track titled “Yesterday.” Though the attire used in the music video was you casual everyday fall wear, the scenery is what grasped a lot of the attention. The music video took place in a predominately post-apocalyptic world. XIA himself sported an all gray matching the scattered debris.

“The Beat” by Topp Dogg

From corn rows to hot pink locks to a miniature afro, Topp Dogg just about every hairstyle you can think of in their music video for “The Beat.” Each member had a very unique hairstyle with none being quite the same. Their style as well consisted of an array of baggy military green tinted jackets befitting with their tough choreography.

“Like OOH-AHH” by TWICE

JYP’s newest girl took the K-pop world by storm with their debut track “Like OOH-AHH.” The music video has already garnered over 6.5 million views. For their debut concept, each took member took on a different school club themed concept. There were different styled uniforms, dance club attire, sports club, and even a cheerleader outfit. For the final dance number the nine ladies combine strong camouflage print with bold red for a charismatic appearance.

Next month will quite the competitive month for boy bands as some comebacks are expected to be made from VIXX, WINNER, B.A.P, BTS and more!
