Psy's Gentleman Ranks Number 1 on iTunes in 20 Countries

Just four days after the official release of "Gentleman," Psy has already taken over iTunes charts in 20 countries worldwide. It remains to be seen whether "Gentleman" will outdo the previous record set by "Gangnam Style" which stood atop on 41 countries.

Currently, "Gentleman" ranks number one on iTunes in Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, Venezuela, Vietnam and other countries for a total of 20.

This morning on iTunes World Single Charts, which is based on total records across the world, "Gentleman" jumped up to the number two spot from its previous 8th place. With immediate live updates that reflect real-time trends and sales, iTunes Charts boasts is often the gold standard for global popularity. Psy's "Gangnam Style" was ranked number one in the United States, Great Britain, France and other major music markets.

Back in last September, it remained at the top of U.S. charts for 15 consecutive days.

Psy's new release gained much attention at what most called a crossroads for Psy. Whether he was going to fizzle out as a one-hit wonder or continue on his success and create a legacy was the big question leading to the release of Psy's long-awaited "Gentleman."

So far, so great.

The total view counts of "Gentleman" music video has exceeded 65 million as of April 15 and is continuing to increase at an exponential rate. It also ranked 61st place on United Kingdom's Single Charts.

In the next couple of weeks, we will see whether the initial momentum will carry on and break new records.
