Sandara Park Takes Charge Of 'Sugarman' Hosting Duties Alongside Yoo Jae Suk, Yoo Hee Yeol

The first episode of a JTBC's new variety show "Sugarman" aired on Tuesday, heralding a new era for one member of 2NE1.

Sandara Park (Dara) of the YG Entertainment girl group made her debut as a variety show MC on "Sugarman." This is the first time a member of 2NE1 has hosted a Korean variety series.

Dara is one of the four hosts of "Sugarman," alongside popular television popularities including comedian Yoo Jae Suk, producer and musician, Yoo Hee Yeol, and lyricist Kim Li Na.

"Sugarman" is a music based variety show where Korean hits are recreated to fit modern music styles. The show aired initially in August as a two-episode special, and began regular broadcast on Oct. 20.

The formal title of the show "Two Yoo Project: Searching For Sugarman" is a play on words based around main MC's, Yoo Jae Suk and Yoo Hee Yeol, each of whom head teams that remix hit songs of the past.

Guests and interactions with a studio audience augment the four hosts.

During the first episode, Dara discussed her role in 2NE1 and gave some insight into being a K-pop idol, in comparison to the careers of other musicians on the show.

The idol surprised the audience by discussing her love life, and her role as a rapper in 2NE1's 2009 debut song, "Fire."

The first episode ended with Yoo Hee Yeol's team taking victory for a new version of H's (Hyun Seung Min) "Did You Forget." Apink members Bomi and Nam Joo were featured on the remix.
