IU Goes Down The Rabbit Hole For Wonderland-Themed Music Video In 'Twenty-Three'

IU has made her comeback with her full album "CHAT-SHIRE" along with an Alice in Wonderland fantasy-themed music video for "Twenty-Three."

The music video begins with IU blowing out candles on a birthday cake. She then slams her face into the cake as the camera zooms out. IU then wakes up on a bed and sings about being 23, calling herself a "riddle."

Through the lyrics, IU expresses her inner conflict about whether she should act like a child or an adult now that she's 23. Later in the video, she expresses her desire to become sexier and shed her cute image. In the chorus, IU sings about how people can't tell what she is actually like and implies that she is always pretending to be something else.

As the music video goes on IU enters a fantasy world similar to Alice in Wonderland, where many copies of her appear and the video becomes more and more fantastical.

The album contains seven tracks: "Shoes", "Zeze", "Twenty-three", "The Shower", "Red Queen (feat Zion.T)", "Knee", and "Glasses." The physical album will also contain 2 bonus songs, one of which is from IU's recent TV drama 'Producer.'

According to Yonhap News, "Twenty-Three" appeared in the number one spot across several domestic music charts immediately after its release on Friday.
