What is it about YouTube that the instant a video becomes viral there are more parodies than you can shake a stick at?

We saw this all before with Psy's "Gangnam Style" - and countless other songs before and after (poor Taylor Swift has had her fair share of YouTube mockery) - but the latest internet parody trend is spoofing "Gentleman."

Even though the video was just released a couple days ago, it already has nearly 100 million views and there are literally hundreds of gentlemanly amateur videos, with more being posted all the time.

The beat seems to be lending well to the input of new lyrics, and we have seen everything from "English Gentleman" to "Nerdy Man" to "Mega Man."

After the tune sinks in, more original versions are likely to arise - reddit users have already prepared themselves and threads have gone up to share the various parody videos while meme tracking sites have begun to make comprehensive lists. Twitter is a flutter with tweeters sharing links and Facebook has certainly not been left untouched either.

Even on YouTube, as the official "Gentleman" continues to rack up the views, so do the parodies, some have already received tens of thousands of hits.
