Newly Debuted K-Pop Act DAY6 Sell Out Tickets For 1st Concert In Just 5 Minutes

One new K-pop band made waves with their September debut.

The upcoming concert for DAY6, JYP Entertainment's latest boy band, sold out within five minutes after tickets went on sale on Oct. 23. The rock band idol group debuted in September, but tickets were still highly in demand for their first concert.

DAY6's first live concert, known as "D-day," will be held in Seoul on Nov. 20 and 21. The performance comes just two months after their formal debut in the Korean music industry.

The group released their debut EP "The Day" on Sept. 7. Prior to and following their formal debut as an idol band, DAY6 performed at Korean music festivals and around Seoul's indie scene in the Honda neighborhood.

A few days after their first concert series in Korea, DAY6 will hold a showcase in Thailand on Dec. 12.

DAY6 has six members, and is a rock band idol group hybrid produced by JYP Entertainment. Their first EP, "The Day," was well-received following its release, and the single "Congratulations" appeared within the top 100 songs on Korean music charts shortly after it was released.
