Want to revel in Halloween or completely avoid it? A study by personal finance site WalletHub revealed the worst and best cities to celebrate Halloween in the U.S. Read on to find out where you'll want to be heading this All Hallows' Eve.

St. Petersburg, Fla. is the nation's worst big city to celebrate Halloween in, according to the study.

One-hundred of the USA's largest cities were compared by 16 different measures, from the number of costume stores per 100,000 residents, weather forecasts for Oct. 31, the average cost of a Halloween party ticket, the city's crime rate, the percentage of the population 14 years old or younger to the number of candy stores per capita, according to USA Today.

St. Petersburg has one of the lowest number of costume stores per capita in the country, and it comes in next-to-last in the report's "safety & surroundings" category, which measured walk score, crime rate, and pedestrian fatality rate.

The city whose residents have the best time during Halloween is New York, which WalletHub ranked highly for its promising weather on the holiday and scoring well on walkability and general safety.

New York was followed by Jersey City, N.J., Newark, N.J., Gilbert, Ariz., and Laredo, Texas to round out the top five cities to celebrate Halloween.

St. Petersburg, on the other hand, was followed by Memphis, Tenn., Detroit, Mich., Winston-Salem, N.C., and Oakland, Calif.
