iKON Postpone 'Welcome Back' Album Release And Music Videos

Fans of rookie K-pop boy band iKON will have to wait a few more weeks for new music.

Previously the group's company, YG Entertainment, revealed that iKON would release the second half of their debut album "Welcome Back" at the beginning of November. However, on Wednesday, the record label made a "Re-scheduling Announcement" to announce changes in iKON's promotional timeline.

Instead of releasing new music on Nov. 2, iKON will release two new singles and music videos on Nov. 16, followed by the completion of "Welcome Back" in December.

According to the K-Pop Herald, YG Entertainment also announced that several acclaimed producers and music video directors will partake in preparations for iKON's upcoming music.

The decision to change the timeline was made by YG Entertainment's chief, Yang Hyun Suk.

"Due to chief Yang Hyun Suk's order to produce a hit that will be superior to 'My Type' and to take time to make more than three music videos, we had to change schedules," a YG Entertainment rep said.

iKON debuted with the song "My Type" in September, followed by the first half of their debut album, "Welcome Back," in October. "Welcome Back" was introduced via dual promotional singles, "Rhythm Ta" and "Airplane."

The YG Entertainment boy band was introduced to Korean audiences first through two Mnet survival competition shows, "Who Is Next: Win" and "Mix & Match," which led to the member line-ups of YG Entertainment's WINNER and iKON.

iKON formally debuted on Oct. 1 with the release of their debut half album, "Welcome Back."
