f(x) Announce Plans For 1st Solo Concert, 7 Years After Debut And Down 1 Member

Fans of SM Entertainment's girl group f(x) have been waiting since 2009 for a full-fledged concert, but the wait is over.

On Wednesday, SM entertainment announced that f(x) will launch their first solo concert in Seoul following the new year.

The announcement comes a day after f(x) released their fourth album, "4 Walls." This will be f(x)'s first solo concert since the girl group debuted in 2009 and will be held at Olympic Park in Southern Seoul.

Along with the news of f(x)'s long-awaited concert, which comes seven years after the girl group's 2009 debut, October has been a historic month for the group.

f(x)'s "4 Walls" is the group's first album sans former member Sulli (Choi Jin Ri), who left the group in August following a hiatus due to a variety of rumors regarding her relationship Dynamic Duo's Choiza (Choi Jae Ho).

Sulli took to Instagram to support the remaining four members of f(x) ahead of the release of "4 Walls."

Fans of f(x) have been clamoring for a solo concert from the K-pop girl group for years, due to the group's unique style. Other SM Entertainment K-pop groups, including acts that debuted after f(x), have held solo concerts for years and f(x) is the only mature SM Entertainment act not to have performed a solo tour.

It is unknown if f(x) will hold solo concerts overseas.

f(x)'s concert will take place in Seoul on Jan. 30 and 31, 2016.
