Nicholas Hoult News: Actor Done With 'X-Men'? Said He's 'Frustrated' With Superhero Movies!

Nicholas Hoult recently vented how superhero movies were getting frustrating for him. With several "X-Men" movies under his belt, is the Hank McCoy aka Beast actor done with his superhero role?

According to a report on the Evening Standard, the Hank McCoy actor has said in an interview that there were superhero movies that seemed impersonal.

"At times I'll see superhero movies and admittedly be frustrated by them," he told NME magazine as quoted by the source above. "It does feel like some are just packaging and they're not trying hard enough because they know it's a bankable formula."

He clarified though that "X-Men" was an exception.

"But I love the 'X-Men' films because they have a heart to them and you have actors like Michael Fassbender who bring so much to the characters," the Hank McCoy aka Beast actor explained. "The superheroes in that world aren't smug. You don't want to watch someone who you know is going to win from the start just being awesome for two hours."

It was not clear which superhero movie Nicholas Hoult was throwing shade at. As fans await his next superhero movie, news has it the actor has been dabbing as well into different movie genres.

As reported by The Irish Times, he starred opposite Charlize Theron for "Mad Max: Fury Road" earlier this year. Last month, his sci-fi love story movie with Kristen Stewart, "Equals" was released. This month, his new movie is "Kill Your Friends." His role on the movie was murderer Steven Stelfox and he revealed he enjoyed portraying him.

"Weirdly, I kind of enjoyed being in his [the character] company," he pointed out. "I was reading the book again just before we started shooting. I'd be walking around town and occasionally I'd have to stop myself because I'd look at someone and hear Stelfox in my head."

After playing murderer, Nicholas Hoult will be back doing a love story. According to the news on Variety, he will star in "The Discovery" with Rooney Mara.
